How to find a friend on Myspace

Have you ever met someone at a party and got their number but lost it? Or let's say you have contacts in your Yahoo mail account or Gmail, or maybe AOL or AIM that you would like to find on Myspace so you can keep in better touch and share pictures easier. There are a few reasons you'd want to look for people on Myspace, and here is a simple guide on how to find them easily:


Directions for finding a friend on Myspace:

1)Log into your Myspace account at www.myspace.com.

2)Hover your mouse over the “Friends” Category on the Navigation bar at the top of the screen until a drop down menu is shown, then click on “Find Friends” as shown below.


3)At the top area you will have an option to put in your friends Name, email, or Display Name. By default this drop down menu is set to “all fields” so whatever you type will be searched for in all fields, but if you are looking for a specific name or email address then be sure to change it to that in the drop down menu so it will narrow down the search results!
Also, you will notice on the Right hand side the “Find People you Email” Link. This helps you find people in your contacts on AOL instant messanger (also known as AIM), Gmail, AOL, Yahoo mail, or Windows Messenger. This is very helpful as well!
 

4)Now you can refine your search, say you are searching for someone you met at a party named Kim. You don’t know Kim’s last name, you just know she’s in your area and she’s 20 years old. Search for “Name” Kim and on the right side in the below diagram under “Filter Results” select Female, Age 20 (both boxes) and then enter your zip code. Now set the distance, start small and increase if you can’t find the person at first to make it easier.
